Greggs opens new store at The Mall Blackburn creating 12 jobs

Greggs has opened a new shop today in Blackburn town centre, creating 12 new jobs.

The popular British bakery chain opened its doors to peckish customers at The Mall shopping centre the first time earlier today (August 19). Visitors are able to choose from all their freshly-prepared favourites – from sandwiches to sweet treats and savouries, including steak bakes and the popular vegan sausage roll.

The store, at Unit 29, also boasts a “fresh new look” and has a “comfortable seating” area outside. Customers will be able to make Click + Collect orders via the Greggs App, including breakfasts and drinks.

A spokesperson for Greggs said: “We can’t wait to welcome both Greggs fans and new customers to our brand-new shop. We’ve got an amazing range of tasty bakes, hot drinks, sweet treats and savouries available for takeaway or Click + Collect.”

They added that Greggs’ smooth flat white and warming peppermint tea are among the hot drinks on offer at the new shop – “all of which are 100 per cent Fairtrade”. The location also includes a Nuttall Unit so customers can purchase some of Greggs’ favourite hot items such as southern fried chicken goujons and potato wedges.

Gillian Long, Retail Operations Director for Greggs, said: “Our new shop in Blackburn has brought 12 new jobs to the local area, as well as providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their favourite Greggs food.”

The shop’s opening hours are: Monday to Saturday 8.30am to 5.30pm and Sunday 10am to 4.30pm. Any further jobs created at the Blackburn shop will be posted here.
