Jasmine Bains, hailing from Jullundur, Punjab, is a trailblazing force in the world of sustainable fashion. With a rich background in traditional agriculture and a distinguished academic record, she ventured into the realms of fashion production, guided by her profound love for nature and artistic vision. Through Eco-Printing, she has created a unique style that marries art with the environment, promoting a sustainable and stylish way of dressing that reflects both her passion for nature and her dedication to fashion.

I,ME AND MYSELF

I am Jasmine Bains, born in Jullundur, Punjab, to Harpreet Singh Bains and Manjit Kaur Bains, who come from a traditional agricultural background.

My educational journey started at Vivek High School, and I continued to excel by pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (Economic Honours) at the esteemed MCM DAV College for Women, where I ranked at the top of my class.

In 2009, I ventured to England for further education at the University of Exeter, which led to an internship with Deloitte Advisory Services and later marketing roles with Chanel and Selfridges.

In 2011, I returned to India, armed with a wealth of experience that laid the foundation for my future venture. My time at Reliance Brands India Private Limited, setting up Diesel stores across India, honed my fashion retail expertise.

MY INSPIRATION

My inspiration comes from within, driven by the belief that answers lie within ourselves. I’ve always had the strength to overcome hurdles and keep moving forward.

My childhood dream became a reality as I delved into the world of fashion production. Influenced by traditional North Indian roots and extensive European travels, I developed a strong sense of personal style. Countless hours of research in bazaar markets across cities like New Delhi, Chandigarh, Lucknow, and Jaipur fueled my passion.

MAGIC OF ECO PRINTING

I embarked on the journey of Eco-Printing, a harmonious blend of art and nature, where fashion intertwines with flora. This sustainable art form redefines fashion, offering a secret style that is both environmentally conscious and irresistibly sexy.

With 16 years of experience in the retail fashion industry and 8 years as the owner of my brand, I’ve always been drawn to nature, practicing yoga and spending time in forests. I wanted to bring a piece of the forest into everyone’s wardrobe.

My mission is to inspire people to embrace sustainable fashion through botanical printing, using eco dyes and pigments. Starting with materials like silver oaks, castor, eucalyptus, peepal, and beri, and expanding to florals like sunflower, madhumalti hibiscus, and rose, I aim to influence the world with a healthier natural environment.

THE CHALLENGE

Eco-printing’s unique beauty presents a challenge, as each piece is one-of-a-kind. Educating clients about the element of surprise and the benefits of eco-printing is another challenge I face. However, the way we dress speaks volumes about our character, and wearing eco-printed garments not only exudes sophistication but also radiates positive energy.
